Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Aaron Mayberry got the match started through his kick off. Shinnecock Hills:s Denis Grant showed great skill when he stopped Dirk Price:s penalty. In the 8th minute, Dirk Price made a precise shot to the right of Denis Grant. Shinnecock Hills's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Denis Grant came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Valdosta FC's Tad Westbrook. But to his dismay, Tad Westbrook quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Chase Huntley hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Devin Lambert hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Shinnecock Hills's Denis Grant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tad Westbrook in the 20th minute of play. After 21 minutes, Chase Huntley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shinnecock Hills and the Valdosta FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Shinnecock Hills getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Chase Huntley hit a great ball. Aaron Mayberry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Valdosta FC's zone, Aaron Mayberry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Cronin came out of the goal and Aaron Mayberry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute of the match Dirk Price shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Denis Grant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aaron Mayberry charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Mayberry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th match minute, Shinnecock Hills was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Mayberry to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute Larry Benjamin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Grant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shinnecock Hills's Devin Todd got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Larry Benjamin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Denis Grant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tad Westbrook to make the kick off. A collision led to Valdosta FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Tad Westbrook hit a great ball. After 56 played minutes Shinnecock Hills got a freekick which was hit by Devin Lambert. Sol Stover received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Denis Grant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute Junior Nieves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Grant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaron Mayberry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aaron Mayberry might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Cronin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aaron Mayberry ran back to his position shaking his head. When Scott Rosenthal fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valdosta FC's protests and gave Scott Rosenthal a yellow card for diving instead. Scott Rosenthal kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Tad Westbrook fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Denis Grant, passed just outside the right post. In the 84th minute, Larry Benjamin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denis Grant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Tad Westbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Grant having to interfere. When Aaron Mayberry came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Shinnecock Hills fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Mayberry couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Valdosta FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
