After a defensive mix-up in Lea Hill's zone, Tad Westbrook stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gary Hong came out of the goal and Tad Westbrook tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gary Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tad Westbrook, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Tad Westbrook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darell Palmer hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Valdosta FC were awarded a corner. Dirk Price went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Valdosta FC's corner Dirk Price fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gary Hong quite easily take care of the ball. In the 42nd minute Tad Westbrook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gary Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sol Stover kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Darius Johnson to strike the kick off in the second half. Lea Hill's Gary Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tad Westbrook in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Lea Hill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Jackson to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes Valdosta FC got a freekick which was hit by Junior Nieves. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tad Westbrook in the 58th minute of play forced Lea Hill's goalkeeper Gary Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Lea Hill getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Perry Childress hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Larry Benjamin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 61 played minutes Valdosta FC got a freekick which was hit by Tad Westbrook. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Larry Benjamin in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gary Hong saved Lea Hill from getting behind. Valdosta FC's Tad Westbrook got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Larry Benjamin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tad Westbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Hong having to interfere. When Luis Hagen fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valdosta FC's protests and gave Luis Hagen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Valdosta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Hagen to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes in the game Darrel Davies after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved David Cronin. A very good opportunity. Tad Westbrook sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gary Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tad Westbrook, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lea Hill's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
