When Ahmed Flint fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Village FC's protests and gave Ahmed Flint a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosario Mobley got free with Hugo Jacobsen in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jack Perdue hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Key West's Titus Carney couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for The Village FC. A collision led to The Village FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ahmed Flint hit a great ball. Emilio Hooks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacques Lyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jacques Lyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, The Village FC's Ricky Sloan got a free kick in the 33rd minute. When Key West's Lincoln Miner, in the 35th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Key West. Rosario Mobley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Village FC's Jacques Lyle got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Jacques Lyle made a precise shot to the right of Emilio Hooks. Key West's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 48 minutes of play, The Village FC's Renato McGowan made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emilio Hooks was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The wind increased when Lincoln Miner made the kick off in the second half. Emilio Hooks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacques Lyle in the 54th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacques Lyle in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Hooks saved Key West from getting behind. Renato McGowan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Emilio Hooks made a huge save. Rosario Mobley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd minute, Lincoln Miner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Jacobsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Jacques Lyle sped through Key West's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emilio Hooks. Rosario Mobley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Hugo Jacobsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
