Chance Farrar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timmy Blevinss short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Chance Farrar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Thad Roman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cazenovia's supporters rose to their feet, but Thad Roman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joshua Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thad Roman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Perez having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Raphael Newell sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gates Mills's Joshua Perez didn't even have to move. After 14 played minutes Cazenovia got a freekick which was hit by Frankie Ashley. Cazenovia's Chance Farrar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Devine in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, David Aquino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gates Mills's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cazenovia the free kick. David Aquino kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 21 played minutes, Cazenovia's Raphael Newell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joshua Perez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cazenovia reached it. Joshua Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thad Roman in the 22nd minute of play. When Cazenovia's Thad Roman in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gates Mills's goalie prevented a goal. In the 26th match minute, Gates Mills was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Austin Choi to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Cazenovia's Raphael Newell broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Flint Slater recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joshua Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flint Slater in the 32nd minute of play. Wiley Kearns's late challenge caught a Cazenovia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiley Kearns helped the player get up and apologised. 33 minutes into the game, one of Gates Mills:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flint Slater in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joshua Perez saved Gates Mills from getting behind. Cameron Ziegler hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The Gates Mills players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cazenovia were winning 0-1.

59 minutes into the match, Gates Mills's goalkeeper Joshua Perez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flint Slater. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Timmy Blevins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gates Mills's supporters rose to their feet, but Timmy Blevins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flint Slater's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joshua Perez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thad Roman in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joshua Perez saved Gates Mills from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Thad Roman notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Gates Mills's Joshua Perez. Joshua Perez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Flint Slater managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cazenovia's supporters rose to their feet, but Flint Slater was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joshua Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 82 minutes, Stuart Roman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gates Mills and the Cazenovia players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gates Mills getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Stuart Roman hit a great ball. When Thad Roman came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Cazenovia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thad Roman couldn't finish the play. Flint Slater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cazenovia played a much better game than Gates Mills and deserved their victory. The Gates Mills players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
