Danville Rossoneri's Jarod Judd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yong Knowles in the 9th minute of play. Gerry Alexander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Shaffer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Tarboro got a freekick which was hit by Christian Gallegos. Gerry Alexander struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Peter Shaffer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Danville Rossoneri. The supporters of Danville Rossoneri booed when Tarboro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Young Jarvis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21stth minute of the game Oren McClain who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tarboro's Peter Shaffer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerry Alexander who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Peter Shaffer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gerry Alexander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Peter Shaffer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danville Rossoneri's Jarod Judd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Vaughn in the 30th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Yong Knowles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarod Judd was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. When Christian Gallegos came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Tarboro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Gallegos couldn't finish the play. Yong Knowles struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. If Oren McClain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Oren McClain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Shaffer having to interfere. Jarod Judd made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Vaughn in the 65th minute. Oren McClain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th match minute, Danville Rossoneri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaiah Landers to maneuver through the defense. Yong Knowles might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jarod Judd. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yong Knowles ran back to his position shaking his head. 85 minutes into the match, Danville Rossoneri's goalkeeper Jarod Judd had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adam Vaughn. When Yong Knowles came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Tarboro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yong Knowles couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Danville Rossoneri's Jarod Judd got control of the ball when Adam Vaughn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Yong Knowles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarod Judd having to interfere. If Oren McClain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
