If Caleb Stokes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caleb Stokes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brant Katz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, kylethornton's goal looked a bit too open when Caleb Stokes came free, but Brant Katz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, kylethornton's Jerome Aguirre got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 26th match minute, kylethornton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by DeMarcus Duarte to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute Son Lovett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lazaro Fay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Son Lovett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Melvin Duffy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brant Katz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doug Cox in the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 43 minutes, Caleb Stokes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abernathy AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caleb Stokes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 minutes, Sean Ivy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abernathy AFC and the kylethornton players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of kylethornton booed when Abernathy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Ivy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Melvin Duffy sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Abernathy AFC's Lazaro Fay didn't even have to move. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doug Cox made a kick off. Son Lovett struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Lazaro Fay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for kylethornton. 63 minutes into the match, kylethornton's goalkeeper Brant Katz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caleb Stokes. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Son Lovett managed to get in a good position for a shot. kylethornton's supporters rose to their feet, but Son Lovett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lazaro Fay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caleb Stokes scored 0-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brant Katz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute, Ron Cote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Domenic Stapleton in the 77th minute really tested Brant Katz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Son Lovett in the 83rd minute of play forced Abernathy AFC's goalkeeper Lazaro Fay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Doug Cox recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Brant Katz. Doug Cox showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Abernathy AFC's Doug Cox got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. kylethornton's Brant Katz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doug Cox in the 95th minute of play.
