With 3 minutes on the clock, Rich Epps commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Rene Paquette walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. A collision led to Crossfire getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Dwayne Ernst hit a great ball. Erik Rivers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 played minutes CastleFord got a freekick which was hit by Chad Gallardo. Dwayne Ernst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marty Michel having to interfere. In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Crossfire. Robby Kerr stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marty Michel. 1-0. Javier Potts charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Javier Potts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to CastleFord getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Javier Potts hit a great ball. Lyle Walsh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joe Bravo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Marty Michel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Marty Michel came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Crossfire's Lyle Walsh. But to his dismay, Lyle Walsh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Bryan Geiger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Denver Briggs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik Rivers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. CastleFord's Marty Michel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lyle Walsh in the 65th minute of play. After 69 played minutes CastleFord got a freekick which was hit by Erik Rivers. 72 minutes into the match, Crossfire's Lyle Walsh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marty Michel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bryan Geiger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute of the match Marcos Sharpe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marty Michel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Crossfire's goal looked a bit too open when Bryan Geiger came free, but Denver Briggs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Joe Bravo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, CastleFord's John Canales got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 93 played minutes Crossfire got a freekick which was hit by Dwayne Ernst. If Ryan Matlock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Crossfire fans cheered their team off the field, for while CastleFord had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
