After having played for 6 minutes, Ronnie Bowers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soranade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronnie Bowers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Russ Brunson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Cooley, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Davis Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronnie Bowers, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Wallace Newman's late challenge caught a Soranade's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joesph Roman got free with Russ Brunson in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Russ Brunson managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Gainesville's Randolph Hairston fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 29 minutes of play Gainesville's Wallace Newman was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 29th match minute, Gainesville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wallace Newman to maneuver through the defense. Andre Barrera scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Davis Guzman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Randolph Hairston managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gainesville's supporters rose to their feet, but Randolph Hairston was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soranade's Russ Brunson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theodore Ferguson in the 74th minute of play. Russ Brunson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Randolph Hairston, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Russ Brunson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joesph Roman's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Russ Brunson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theodore Ferguson in the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randolph Hairston in the 89th minute of play forced Soranade's goalkeeper Russ Brunson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Joesph Roman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Brunson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute of the match Roosevelt Cassidy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Davis Guzman skillfully saved the ball. Russ Brunson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theodore Ferguson in the 96th minute of the match. Soranade were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Gainesville's much stronger midfield.
