If Glen Lentz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Philip Wolff charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Philip Wolff the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Alvin AFC's Philip Wolff got a free kick in the 12th minute. Owen Hamilton hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 19 minutes in the game Nathanial Barker after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Milton Huber. A very good opportunity. An unexpectedly hard shot by Foster Light in the 21st minute of play forced Alvin AFC's goalkeeper Mike Key to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Reynoldsburg's zone, Glen Lentz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Milton Huber came out of the goal and Glen Lentz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emerson Hutchins during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes Reynoldsburg got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Hutchins. Nathanial Barker shot a long shot in the 27th minute and a light blocked Milton Huber hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-0. Rudy Cooley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Mike Key tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Milton Huber made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Travis Hawley sent off a good shot on target. Rich Grubb hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Milton Huber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glen Lentz in the 42nd minute of the match. Travis Hawley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Rudy Cooley made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Rudy Cooley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Foster Light sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rudy Cooley in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike Key saved Alvin AFC from getting behind. Mike Key made an important save on a dangerous shot by Foster Light in the 57th minute. Mike Key took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudy Cooley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emerson Hutchins got his second yellow card in the match during the 62nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Emerson Hutchins kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. If Travis Hawley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rudy Cooley got free with Mike Key in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Travis Hawley scored 4-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Milton Huber, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Milton Huber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glen Lentz in the 78th minute of play. Glen Lentz struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Milton Huber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvin AFC. When Foster Light fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reynoldsburg's protests and gave Foster Light a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Reynoldsburg got a freekick which was hit by Foster Light. Foster Light fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Key having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Rudy Cooley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reynoldsburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudy Cooley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
