After 19 minutes, Logan Rosado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alvin AFC and the Burlingame FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Logan Rosado kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd match minute, Alvin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nathanial Barker to maneuver through the defense. Alvin AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Burlingame FC the free kick. The supporters of Burlingame FC booed when Alvin AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristopher Boyles didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Lentz in the 35th minute of play forced Burlingame FC's goalkeeper Roy Fry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute of the match Winfred Bynum shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mike Key showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 37th match minute, Alvin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Todd to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Cristopher Boyles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mike Key showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nigel Arredondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Mike Key made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nigel Arredondo to make the kick off. Saul Skaggs kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Glen Lentz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roy Fry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Lentz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Burlingame FC's Roy Fry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Travis Hawley in the 72nd minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Burlingame FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darin Stockton to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Bo Calloway managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burlingame FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bo Calloway was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mike Key breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bo Calloway sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bo Calloway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Mike Key tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
