Jimmy Hartman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stephen Grier's late challenge caught a Topton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stephen Grier helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Topton booed when New Paltz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephen Grier didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Topton's Ronny Handy in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 24th minute, Topton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jimmy Hartman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Gregg Erickson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jimmy Hartman in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, one of Topton:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Topton. Maurice Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moises Duarte having to interfere. Stephen Grier got his second yellow card in the match during the 34th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 39 played minutes New Paltz got a freekick which was hit by Ron Croft. After a rather tough play, New Paltz's Ron Croft got a free kick in the 44th minute. Jimmy Hartman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gregg Erickson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Topton's Cliff Rutledge sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Moises Duarte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Deon Kincaid hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Topton's Moises Duarte threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ronny Handy, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jimmy Hartman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Gregg Erickson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Topton's Gregg Erickson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Hartman in the 63rd minute of play. Ronny Handy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilfredo Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Handy in the 78th minute of play forced New Paltz's goalkeeper Moises Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ronny Handy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Moises Duarte. That made the score 1-1 in the 80 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Handy in the 83rd minute of play forced New Paltz's goalkeeper Moises Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Topton's Moises Duarte threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ronny Handy, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ron Croft scored 2-1 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gregg Erickson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Maurice Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moises Duarte having to interfere. New Paltz were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Topton for a fine match.
