After 20 played minutes Sanatoga FC got a freekick which was hit by Charles Rhodes. With a little luck, Aransas Pass's Hal Myrick got control of the ball when Michael McGinnis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pascal Gage's late challenge caught a Sanatoga FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sanatoga FC's Sam Masters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Wagner in the 33rd minute of play.
