An unexpectedly hard shot by Deon Rocha in the 23rd minute of play forced Fulham's goalkeeper Giovanni Bowles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Octavio Keller took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Sammy Salter to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shannon Delaney during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Chivas FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fulham:s goal.
