Rudy Sandoval got his second yellow card in the match during the 20th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Sammy Salter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnnie Calhoun, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Micah Dawkins got free with Rudy Langley in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johnnie Calhoun in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sammy Salter saved Chivas FC from getting behind. If Johnnie Calhoun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 29 minutes, Johnnie Calhoun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fulham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnnie Calhoun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johnnie Calhoun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Sammy Salter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Johnnie Calhoun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnnie Calhoun might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sammy Salter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
