When Gardiner's Blake Kim, in the 13th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Gardiner. Paul Floyd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Sharpe in the 15th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Willow Oak's Emmanuel Bagley got a free kick in the 15th minute. Blake Kim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Paul Floyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ron Huff's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Rich Mason skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hal Temple hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Ron Huff could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Rich Mason made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ron Huff got free with Rich Mason in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the game, Hal Temple was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gardiner's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Willow Oak the free kick. Hal Temple hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Blake Kim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Sharpe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blake Kim to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Willow Oak got a freekick which was hit by Nigel Valencia. In the 57th minute, Javier Sharpe made a precise shot to the right of Paul Floyd. Willow Oak's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Willow Oak's zone, Blake Kim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Floyd came out of the goal and Blake Kim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 62nd minute of the match Hal Temple completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hal Temple a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Hal Temple hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 71 minutes, Ron Huff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Willow Oak and the Gardiner players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute Javier Sharpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Floyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willow Oak's Paul Floyd proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Willow Oak from getting a goal against them. Emmanuel Bagley kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Gardiner's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
