In the 4th match minute, Chamberlayne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thurman Buddle to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Chamberlayne's zone, Rosario Mullins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tobiasz Harendarski came out of the goal and Rosario Mullins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Foster McFadden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Chamberlayne's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenzo Alvarez came free, but Tobiasz Harendarski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of MacArthur booed when Chamberlayne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graig Espinoza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rosario Mullins in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobiasz Harendarski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tobiasz Harendarski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Alvarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Chamberlayne's goal looked a bit too open when Foster McFadden came free, but Tobiasz Harendarski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 minutes Chamberlayne's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rosario Mullins who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on MacArthur's corner Rosario Mullins fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tobiasz Harendarski quite easily take care of the ball. After 22 played minutes MacArthur got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Shields. 24 minutes into the match, Foster McFadden notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Chamberlayne's Tobiasz Harendarski. Tobiasz Harendarski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Thurman Buddle got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Shaun Weller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlton Lopes having to interfere. If Shaun Weller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th match minute, Chamberlayne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graig Espinoza to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Lorenzo Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. MacArthur's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Alvarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tobiasz Harendarski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tobiasz Harendarski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosario Mullins in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Shaun Weller in the 55th minute of play forced MacArthur's goalkeeper Charlton Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute of the match Chamberlayne got a corner. MacArthur's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Graig Espinoza ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Graig Espinoza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Charlton Lopes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 58th match minute, MacArthur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Foster McFadden to maneuver through the defense. Charlton Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thurman Buddle in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Chamberlayne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathon Samuel to maneuver through the defense. When Rosario Mullins came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the MacArthur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosario Mullins couldn't finish the play. Charlton Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thurman Buddle in the 65th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Thurman Buddle made a precise shot to the right of Charlton Lopes. MacArthur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Chamberlayne's Shaun Weller got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After 85 played minutes MacArthur got a freekick which was hit by Rosario Mullins. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Thurman Buddle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chamberlayne's Tobiasz Harendarski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Foster McFadden in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MacArthur eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
