After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Fernando Karros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glenolden AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Karros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garry Vasquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tad Tinsley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fernando Karros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A very good chance for a goal. 25 minutes into the game, Glenolden AFC's Fernando Karros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Garry Vasquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Roger Hensley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frankie Horner in the 31st minute of play. Fernando Karros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 40 played minutes Glenolden AFC got a freekick which was hit by Reggie Lay. In the 43rd minute, Frankie Horner reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roger Hensley. The goal made the score 1-2. Hal Vaughan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Hensley having to interfere. After the first half Glenolden AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frankie Horner was the one to do the kick off. Frankie Horner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Roger Hensley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fernando Karros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 played minutes Yountville AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hal Vaughan. Rickey Cole hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When Tad Tinsley came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Glenolden AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tad Tinsley couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Glenolden AFC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Reggie Lay hit a great ball. The supporters of Yountville AFC booed when Glenolden AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickey Cole didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 minutes, Von Hanley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yountville AFC and the Glenolden AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th minute, Von Hanley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Karros was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Yountville AFC's attentive Frankie Horner managed to snatch the ball when Rickey Cole made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game. If Frankie Horner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Yountville AFC's Garry Vasquez got control of the ball when Tad Tinsley tried to sneak it across the goal line. Glenolden AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
