After a defensive mix-up in Loki s Guards's zone, Donovan Washburn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulysses Proctor came out of the goal and Donovan Washburn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Xavier Mims's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulysses Proctor was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 22 minutes into the game, Tyron Johnson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Loki s Guards's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manitou Springs FC the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Tyron Johnson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the game, Garry Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Darren Pulliam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 30th minute, Xavier Mims ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ulysses Proctor was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 34 played minutes Loki s Guards got a freekick which was hit by Denis Ratliff. Ulysses Proctor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Mims, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donovan Washburn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ulysses Proctor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donovan Washburn in the 42nd minute of play forced Loki s Guards's goalkeeper Ulysses Proctor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Garry Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Troy Samuel to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Dirk Rudd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 53rd minute, Joe Brewer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ulysses Proctor was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 59 played minutes Manitou Springs FC got a freekick which was hit by Lazaro Lynn. When Loki s Guards's Garry Murillo in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Manitou Springs FC's goalie prevented a goal. Xavier Mims could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Ulysses Proctor made a huge save. Donovan Washburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Donovan Washburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulysses Proctor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donovan Washburn in the 72nd minute of play. When Donovan Washburn came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Manitou Springs FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donovan Washburn couldn't finish the play. Xavier Mims fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Proctor having to interfere. Donovan Washburn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Xavier Mims notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Loki s Guards's Ulysses Proctor. Ulysses Proctor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luis Snyder hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Xavier Mims got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xavier Mims during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Manitou Springs FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Xavier Mims hit a great ball. Donovan Washburn did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Ulysses Proctor 90 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Xavier Mims sped through Loki s Guards's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ulysses Proctor. Manitou Springs FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
