Seating: 1797, VIP seats: 155) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Shayne Cortes made the kick off which started today's match. Amesbury AFC's Rueben Marino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Frederick in the 3rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Amesbury AFC defense, Cristobal Parnell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rueben Marino. The Amesbury AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rueben Marino should have stopped the shot. Rueben Marino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Frederick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Amesbury AFC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dwayne Hall hit a great ball. Rueben Marino acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 14th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Wilson Hernandez. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Rueben Marino successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With his leg Rueben Marino managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Connecticut FC's Marcellus Cross fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 21 played minutes Connecticut FC got a freekick which was hit by Bronson Goff. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcellus Cross in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rueben Marino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcellus Cross received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rueben Marino came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcellus Cross slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 25th minute. If Cristobal Parnell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Marcellus Cross sped through Amesbury AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rueben Marino. After 42 played minutes Connecticut FC got a freekick which was hit by Bo Byers. Foster Solomon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shayne Herrera having to interfere. Bronson Goff could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Rueben Marino made a huge save.
The wind increased when Marcellus Cross made the kick off in the second half. Martin Frederick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Rueben Marino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Amesbury AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcellus Cross came free, but Rueben Marino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 58th play minutes Marcellus Cross shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Rueben Marino and just under the crossbar into goal. 62 minutes into the game, Connecticut FC's Marcellus Cross nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rueben Marino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Amesbury AFC's Foster Solomon got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Connecticut FC's Cristobal Parnell got a free kick in the 84th minute. Rueben Marino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristobal Parnell, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some careless play in the Amesbury AFC defense, Bo Byers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rueben Marino. The Amesbury AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rueben Marino should have stopped the shot. If Martin Frederick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Connecticut FC were the better team. Connecticut FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
