Byron Spence sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rueben Marino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Kurtz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Foster Solomon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Oswaldo Hopkins made a huge save. If Shayne Cortes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oswaldo Hopkins made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Foster Solomon sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the match, Amesbury AFC's Shayne Cortes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswaldo Hopkins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Shayne Cortes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amesbury AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Shayne Cortes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oswaldo Hopkins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Foster Solomon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 42nd minute, Byron Spence left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Raritan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Rueben Marino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Kurtz in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Shayne Cortes to strike the kick off in the second half. Amesbury AFC's Shayne Cortes got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Byron Spence came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Raritan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Byron Spence couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Raritan's goalkeeper Oswaldo Hopkins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Raritan's Duane Ames got a free kick in the 75th minute. A collision led to Raritan getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Rubin Archer hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Raritan's goal looked a bit too open when Shayne Cortes came free, but Oswaldo Hopkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Raritan's Byron Spence nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rueben Marino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.
