With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos English prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 7 minutes, Emery Kearns managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lions FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emery Kearns was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Foster City's zone, Sung Conrad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos English came out of the goal and Sung Conrad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Lions FC's Sung Conrad in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Foster City's goalie prevented a goal. Marcos English showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sung Conrad, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alonzo Clay to make the kick off. If Emmitt Cuevas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Korey Conley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
