The supporters of Libera FC booed when Pennington Gap was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darnell Valencia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Libera FC's Sung Richmond got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sherman Burnett fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Libera FC's protests and gave Sherman Burnett a yellow card for diving instead. Sherman Burnett hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Randy Lockwood stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Isidro Morton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 58thth minute of the game Charlie Wilkins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Libera FC's Renato Patten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 63 minutes, Ian Borden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Libera FC and the Pennington Gap players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st match minute, Libera FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bob Putnam to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Randy Lockwood in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renato Patten prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santiago Willingham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Borden in the 76th minute of the match. Domenico Blackburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the game, Raphael Rosas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pennington Gap's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Libera FC the free kick. After 80 played minutes Pennington Gap got a freekick which was hit by Raphael Rosas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randy Lockwood in the 82nd minute of play forced Libera FC's goalkeeper Renato Patten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Pennington Gap's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ian Borden fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 90 played minutes Libera FC got a freekick which was hit by Bob Putnam. When the match was over Libera FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pennington Gap throughout the match.
