The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Rupert Rowell came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Podhale FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rupert Rowell couldn't finish the play. Wilford DeJesus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Herget, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilfred Hills made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Robert Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd of the match, Rupert Rowell tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Wilfred Hills got in the way and made a wonderful save. 27 minutes into the match, Springfield Zips's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Rowell came free, but Wilfred Hills reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Hal Carroll suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Benny Harvey charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benny Harvey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Podhale FC's Benny Harvey got a free kick in the 31st minute. Brant Zapata blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilford DeJesus having to make a save. If Robert Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Schmidt scored 1-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilfred Hills, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rupert Rowell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rupert Rowell to strike the kick off in the second half. Benny Harvey hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Marco Tucker was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 53rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brant Zapata got free with Wilford DeJesus in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brant Zapata struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Wilford DeJesus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Springfield Zips. After 60 minutes, Jermaine Matos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Springfield Zips and the Podhale FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Springfield Zips's zone, Robert Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfred Hills came out of the goal and Robert Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Podhale FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Albert Coats hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute, Jermaine Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 82 minutes, Robert Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Podhale FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Hugh Herget hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Podhale FC booed when Springfield Zips was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brant Zapata didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Cruz Spencer got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Brant Zapata came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Springfield Zips fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brant Zapata couldn't finish the play. 97 minutes into the game, Marco Tucker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Springfield Zips's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Podhale FC the free kick. The referee gave Podhale FC a penalty, 99 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Albert Coats, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Springfield Zips's Wilfred Hills. 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Podhale FC had won after a very even match.
