When Tyron Hayes fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pennington Gap's protests and gave Tyron Hayes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of The king In The North booed when Pennington Gap was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael Rosas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Pennington Gap's Willy Ortega got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 25th match minute, Pennington Gap was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raphael Rosas to maneuver through the defense. Wilfredo Wong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Santiago Willingham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Randy Lockwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Randy Lockwood in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josef Ybarra saved The king In The North from getting behind. If Charlie Wilkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Pennington Gap booed when The king In The North was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert North didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfredo Wong made a kick off. If Wilfredo Wong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Pennington Gap's Santiago Willingham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Pennington Gap from getting a goal against them. Josef Ybarra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Randy Lockwood in the 77th minute of the match. Charlie Wilkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Ybarra having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randy Lockwood in the 90th minute of play forced The king In The North's goalkeeper Josef Ybarra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josef Ybarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Randy Lockwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Randy Lockwood came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Pennington Gap fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Randy Lockwood couldn't finish the play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle.
