The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ladonia's Florian Pritchett got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jeff Willett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 minutes, Cliff Hatcher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ladonia and the Libera FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cliff Hatcher kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Casey Barr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Borden in the 24th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Borden got free with Casey Barr in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the match, Joe Betts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renato Patten. Libera FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joe Betts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Florian Pritchett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 44 minutes, Sherman Burnett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Libera FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sherman Burnett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sherman Burnett had several of the Ladonia's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 46 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Casey Barr as he didn't even see the shot coming. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ian Borden was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeff Willett in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Patten saved Libera FC from getting behind. Casey Barr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Borden, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Ladonia were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Libera FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vince West took the corner. Bob Putnam tried in the 70th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Renato Patten a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-2. Casey Barr stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sherman Burnett's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. The supporters of Libera FC booed when Ladonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilmer McLain didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Libera FC's Sung Richmond got a free kick in the 84th minute. Joe Betts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Renato Patten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joe Betts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Patten having to interfere.
