Azzurri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brant Merritt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If A.J. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Sedona AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brant Merritt came free, but Juan Glenn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wade Sexton hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Garth Rader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Tad Stiles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ignacio Myles might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tad Stiles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brant Merritt ran back to his position shaking his head. If A.J. Rubin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 40thth minute of the game Ignacio Myles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azzurri's Tad Stiles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Robert Courtney struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Juan Glenn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azzurri. After having played for 52 minutes, Brant Merritt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jarod Barnhart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Glenn having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, Brant Merritt fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Juan Glenn, passed just outside the right post. Juan Glenn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrique Diamond went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. If Brant Merritt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tad Stiles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Rader in the 81st minute of play. If Brant Merritt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sedona AFC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Palmer Roper hit a great ball. Tyrone Blanton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Many of Azzurri's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Azzurri may have spent more time on the ball, but Sedona AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
