The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the match, Praetorians's goal looked a bit too open when Willy Horton came free, but Rudolph Youngblood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Lenny Weaver made a precise shot to the right of Rudolph Youngblood. Praetorians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 15 minutes, Lenny Weaver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ste. Genevieve FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenny Weaver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rudolph Youngblood made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lenny Weaver in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute of the match Avery Kerr shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rudolph Youngblood showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Willy Horton in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rudolph Youngblood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Willy Horton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolph Youngblood having to interfere. Willy Horton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Rudolph Youngblood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Lenny Weaver cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rudolph Youngblood was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Vince Yates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvin Driver hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Willy Horton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rudolph Youngblood read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Praetorians's goal looked a bit too open when Willy Horton came free, but Rudolph Youngblood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Rudolph Youngblood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Avery Kerr in the 54th minute of the match. If Lenny Weaver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Praetorians defense, Willy Horton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rudolph Youngblood. The Praetorians fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rudolph Youngblood should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Mendez got free with Mason Wilcox in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ste. Genevieve FC booed when Praetorians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bronson Newsome didn't get a good kick on the ball. Willy Horton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolph Youngblood having to interfere. Lenny Weaver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilberto Mendez hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Ste. Genevieve FC were the better team. Ste. Genevieve FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
