Genevieve FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Francis Hood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mason Wilcox having to interfere. A collision led to USA Thunder getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Conrad Harris hit a great ball. Conrad Harris's late challenge caught a Ste. Genevieve FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrad Harris helped the player get up and apologised. Conrad Harris kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Lonnie Phelps sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Ronald Barrow threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Lonnie Phelps this time. In the 35th minute, Ste. Genevieve FC's Willy Horton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ronald Barrow. Ronald Barrow yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Francis Hood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mason Wilcox read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Willy Horton to make the kick off. Genevieve FC's Avery Kerr got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Francis Hood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Ste. Genevieve FC's Mason Wilcox got control of the ball when Francis Hood tried to sneak it across the goal line. USA Thunder's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ste. Genevieve FC had won, even though USA Thunder had held more of the ball.
