Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Brant Merritt took the kick off in the first half of the match. Mason Wilcox came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Azzurri's A.J. Rubin. But to his dismay, A.J. Rubin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Brant Merritt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azzurri's supporters rose to their feet, but Brant Merritt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mason Wilcox breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Avery Kerr hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Mason Wilcox was a little too slow when A.J. Rubin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Enrique Diamond managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azzurri's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Diamond was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mason Wilcox breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A.J. Rubin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mason Wilcox having to interfere. A.J. Rubin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mason Wilcox read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Ste. Genevieve FC booed when Azzurri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Courtney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brant Merritt in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mason Wilcox prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mason Wilcox showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brant Merritt, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A.J. Rubin's late challenge caught a Ste. Genevieve FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A.J. Rubin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Azzurri getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. A.J. Rubin hit a great ball. In the 36th minute Lenny Weaver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tad Stiles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Brant Merritt managed to get in a good position for a shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Willy Horton was the one to do the kick off. Norbert Cardwell charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norbert Cardwell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th minute Willy Horton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tad Stiles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mason Wilcox showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from A.J. Rubin, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. When Lenny Weaver came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Ste. Genevieve FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenny Weaver couldn't finish the play. The attack was good, but when Brant Merritt in the 74th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 80 minutes into the match, Brant Merritt notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Ste. Genevieve FC's Mason Wilcox. Mason Wilcox was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mason Wilcox made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from A.J. Rubin in the 86th minute of play. In the 94thth minute of the game A.J. Rubin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ste. Genevieve FC's Mason Wilcox was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If A.J. Rubin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mason Wilcox took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brant Merritt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that A.J. Rubin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mason Wilcox was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ste. Genevieve FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Azzurri.
