The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Boyce Boyle struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Mason Wilcox didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Walthourville. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Glenn Horton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walthourville's supporters rose to their feet, but Glenn Horton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mason Wilcox breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Calvin Horne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mason Wilcox having to interfere. Calvin Horne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mason Wilcox having to make a save. Avery Kerr might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tim Pennington. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Avery Kerr ran back to his position shaking his head. Tim Pennington made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lenny Weaver in the 16th minute. Terrell Yang hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Vince Yates hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Santo Kilgore took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mason Wilcox. Ste. Genevieve FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Glenn Horton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Wilkerson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mason Wilcox. Ste. Genevieve FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Glenn Horton took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mason Wilcox. Mason Wilcox dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Boyce Boyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walthourville's supporters rose to their feet, but Boyce Boyle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mason Wilcox breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 42 played minutes Walthourville got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Wilkerson. After a rather tough play, Ste. Genevieve FC's Tracey Presley got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute of the match Santo Kilgore sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mason Wilcox skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Willy Horton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tim Pennington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willy Horton in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute Avery Kerr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Pennington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute Vince Yates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Pennington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tim Pennington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vince Yates in the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Lenny Weaver left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ste. Genevieve FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Walthourville's Calvin Horne slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mason Wilcox. That made the score 1-2 after 65 minutes of play. Boyce Boyle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mason Wilcox came out and tried to block the shot, but Boyce Boyle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 77th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Lenny Weaver cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Tim Pennington was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Ste. Genevieve FC's zone, Boyce Boyle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mason Wilcox came out of the goal and Boyce Boyle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tim Pennington didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Willy Horton went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Glenn Horton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mason Wilcox having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Walthourville's Mason Wilcox threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Calvin Horne, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
