Ovidio Birjaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from DeAngelo McFadden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oliver Tolbert scored 2-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ovidio Birjaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 44 minutes into the match, Missouri City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brendan Oliver came free, but Bradly Hawthorne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Del Rios was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 45th minute. Golden Striker FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Del Rios made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Golden Striker FC's Fletcher Moreland got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Brendan Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradly Hawthorne having to interfere. A collision led to Missouri City AFC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Parker Jacques hit a great ball. If Oliver Tolbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliver Tolbert got free with Ovidio Birjaio in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Golden Striker FC booed when Missouri City AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Montoya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Junior Boston hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Bradly Hawthorne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Del Rios in the 73rd minute of play. Brendan Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradly Hawthorne having to interfere. Fletcher Moreland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oliver Tolbert's late challenge caught a Golden Striker FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliver Tolbert helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th match minute, Missouri City AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Tolbert to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Missouri City AFC's goalkeeper Bradly Hawthorne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Missouri City AFC's zone, Brendan Oliver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bradly Hawthorne came out of the goal and Brendan Oliver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brendan Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradly Hawthorne having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Junior Boston in the 93rd minute of play forced Missouri City AFC's goalkeeper Bradly Hawthorne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute of the match Rashad Andrews shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bradly Hawthorne showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There was no doubt that Golden Striker FC were the better team. Golden Striker FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
