The supporters of Sinton booed when St. Petersburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odell Lozano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cedric Greene received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Desmond Loomis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orville Davila in the 32nd minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Cedric Greene managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St. Petersburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cedric Greene was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cedric Greene fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Butler having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alejandro DeJesus to make the kick off. Cedric Greene took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vincent Butler. Vincent Butler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. St. Petersburg's Desmond Loomis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejandro DeJesus in the 57th minute of play. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind St. Petersburg's goalkeeper Desmond Loomis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Odell Lozano during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to St. Petersburg getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Odell Lozano hit a great ball.
