Taylor Mill's Wilber Darden couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 4th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for St. Petersburg. In the 10th minute, St. Petersburg's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rufus McIntyre fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Milton McNally received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Denver Hahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stefan Messer hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Cedric Greene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Milton McNally received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Denver Hahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Ronny Vigil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, St. Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Sydney Marion came free, but Desmond Loomis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cedric Greene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Benedict Hickey fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taylor Mill's protests and gave Benedict Hickey a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benny Stevenson during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, St. Petersburg's Benny Stevenson got a free kick in the 41st minute. Sydney Marion blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Desmond Loomis having to make a save. Cedric Greene received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Denver Hahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Milton McNally was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. St. Petersburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taylor Mill the free kick. The supporters of Taylor Mill booed when St. Petersburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milton McNally didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Milton McNally to make the kick off. Odell Lozano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute Milton McNally shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denver Hahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denver Hahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milton McNally in the 79th minute of the match. Rufus McIntyre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 90 minutes, Rufus McIntyre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taylor Mill and the St. Petersburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Taylor Mill getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Rufus McIntyre hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Taylor Mill's zone, Cedric Greene stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denver Hahn came out of the goal and Cedric Greene tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. St. Petersburg's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
