Tuborg United FC's Stefan Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Tuborg United FC from getting a goal against them. Carlos Yost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Shannon Buddle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Carlos Yost came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Tuborg United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Yost couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Milton McNally to make the kick off. Carlos Groves's late challenge caught a St. Petersburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Yost kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Desmond Loomis. That made the score 1-3 in the 65 minute of play. Desmond Loomis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Yost, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The supporters of St. Petersburg booed when Tuborg United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Jolly didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 92 minutes, Cedric Greene managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St. Petersburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cedric Greene was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95thth minute of the game Milton McNally who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tuborg United FC's Stefan Duarte was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
