An unexpectedly hard shot by Willard Wright in the 18th minute of play forced Asheville FC's goalkeeper Francesco Blum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Clifton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Francesco Blum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvin Hurd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francesco Blum having to interfere. After a rather tough play, RealBarca's Fabian Clifton got a free kick in the 24th minute. 33 minutes into the match, RealBarca's goalkeeper Bernardo Childers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luke Stephenson. Francesco Blum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvin Hurd, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Asheville FC's zone, Willard Wright stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francesco Blum came out of the goal and Willard Wright tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lee Starkey struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Francesco Blum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RealBarca. When Bryon Hunter fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Asheville FC's protests and gave Bryon Hunter a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of RealBarca booed when Asheville FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryon Hunter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute of the match Lee Starkey sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francesco Blum skillfully saved the ball. When Willard Wright came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the RealBarca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Willard Wright couldn't finish the play. After 46 played minutes Asheville FC got a freekick which was hit by Cameron Stevenson. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Lee Starkey made the kick off in the second half. When Alvin Hurd came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the RealBarca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvin Hurd couldn't finish the play. Lee Starkey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francesco Blum having to interfere. In the 57th minute Willard Wright shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Blum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvin Hurd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Francesco Blum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alvin Hurd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Asheville FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Cameron Stevenson hit a great ball. Alvin Hurd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francesco Blum having to interfere. Asheville FC's Francesco Blum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Asheville FC from getting a goal against them. If Alvin Hurd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Asheville FC's Francesco Blum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Clifton in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trevor MacMillan in the 77th minute of play forced RealBarca's goalkeeper Bernardo Childers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvin Hurd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francesco Blum made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lee Starkey in the 85th minute. If Willard Wright had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the match, Joaquin Contreras notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of RealBarca's Bernardo Childers. Bernardo Childers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 96 minutes, Alvin Hurd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RealBarca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvin Hurd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded RealBarca left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Asheville FC.
