He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stallions FC reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Stallions FC's zone, Willie Browne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lionel Goodwin came out of the goal and Willie Browne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Woody Tang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Trevor Marin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Hinds scored 0-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trevor Marin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Martin Hinds's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trevor Marin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Willie Browne struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Lionel Goodwin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Devoto Shores FC.

After 60 minutes, Dennis Grimes made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Stallions FC's Lionel Goodwin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Weldon Henry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lionel Goodwin having to interfere. After 71 minutes of play, Devoto Shores FC's Willie Browne made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lionel Goodwin was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Woody Tang got free with Trevor Marin in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Devoto Shores FC's Raul Swenson got a free kick in the 79th minute. Dennis Grimes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lionel Goodwin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Weldon Henry in the 86th minute of the match. If Weldon Henry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Weldon Henry scored 3-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lionel Goodwin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stallions FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
