After a defensive mix-up in Otsego City's zone, Nicholas Ellison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Paul came out of the goal and Nicholas Ellison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grady Steiner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adolfo Paul having to make a save. If Nicholas Ellison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, North Alaska FC's Grady Steiner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Paul narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tracey McClelland hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Grady Steiner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Paul having to interfere. Yong Hopson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wiley Chung in the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grady Steiner in the 23rd minute of play forced Otsego City's goalkeeper Adolfo Paul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randell Swartz in the 24th minute of play forced North Alaska FC's goalkeeper Yong Hopson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute of the match, Grady Steiner tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Adolfo Paul saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 36 minutes into the game, Tanner Culver was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Otsego City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave North Alaska FC the free kick. After 36 played minutes Otsego City got a freekick which was hit by Tanner Culver. 41 minutes into the match, Otsego City's goalkeeper Adolfo Paul had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicholas Ellison. In the 44th match minute, North Alaska FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicholas Ellison to maneuver through the defense. Grady Steiner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolfo Paul read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Nicholas Ellison who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Adolfo Paul when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Grady Steiner was the one to do the kick off. Randell Swartz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Yong Hopson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Elijah Cleveland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the match, North Alaska FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wiley Chung came free, but Yong Hopson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicholas Ellison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68thth minute of the game Wiley Chung who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but North Alaska FC's Yong Hopson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adolfo Paul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grady Steiner, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, North Alaska FC's goalkeeper Yong Hopson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Randell Swartz. Nicholas Ellison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Paul having to interfere. Nicholas Ellison took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adolfo Paul. Adolfo Paul dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Adolfo Paul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grady Steiner, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Wiley Chung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Grady Steiner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolfo Paul was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
