Donny Stiles might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trevor Marin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donny Stiles ran back to his position shaking his head. Leland Puckett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Trevor Marin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Nice booed when Devoto Shores FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Weldon Henry didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reuben Ross kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. When Weldon Henry came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Devoto Shores FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Weldon Henry couldn't finish the play. Leland Puckett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trevor Marin having to interfere. After 23rd play minutes Blair Day shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Trevor Marin and just under the crossbar into goal. Devoto Shores FC's Trevor Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leland Puckett in the 26th minute of play. Donny Stiles scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trevor Marin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Devoto Shores FC's Willie Browne got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trevor Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donny Stiles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trevor Marin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blair Day in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Devoto Shores FC defense, Leland Puckett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trevor Marin. The Devoto Shores FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trevor Marin should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute, Donny Stiles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Donny Stiles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 45 minutes, Leland Puckett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leland Puckett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Weldon Henry made the kick off in the second half. When Leland Puckett came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Nice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leland Puckett couldn't finish the play. Willie Browne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Al Blackwell having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leland Puckett got free with Trevor Marin in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th match minute, Nice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Morgan to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Devoto Shores FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Weldon Henry hit a great ball. Jess Means kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Weldon Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Al Blackwell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leland Puckett struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Trevor Marin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nice. In the 90th minute, Leland Puckett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trevor Marin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. If Donny Stiles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Devoto Shores FC's goalkeeper Trevor Marin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leland Puckett. Nice's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
