The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Excaliburs's Luke Shaver shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 7th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Wes Boyles but with some difficulty. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Excaliburs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noah Newcomb didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Rudolf Daniel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Hicks showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Excaliburs's Adrian Hicks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Quinones in the 11th minute of play. Tad Hahn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Wes Boyles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Cristobal Ivy notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Excaliburs's Adrian Hicks. Adrian Hicks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Excaliburs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luke Shaver didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Clay Norwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Excaliburs's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Quinones came free, but Adrian Hicks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Hicks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Quinones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 37 in the game by Tad Hahn from a close distance when the talented Wes Boyles managed to make a qualified save. Borussia Dortmund's players were relieved. After having played for 41 minutes, Renato Quinones managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borussia Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renato Quinones was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's Renato Quinones sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adrian Hicks narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Renato Quinones to strike the kick off in the second half. Luke Shaver charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luke Shaver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Excaliburs! Adrian Hicks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristobal Ivy in the 63rd minute. With a little luck, Excaliburs's Adrian Hicks got control of the ball when Cristobal Ivy tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elliott Wall in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wes Boyles saved Borussia Dortmund from getting behind. In the 74th match minute, Excaliburs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luke Shaver to maneuver through the defense. Rudolf Daniel, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristobal Ivy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adrian Hicks. That made the score 0-3 in the 82 minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Excaliburs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clay Norwood to maneuver through the defense. Leon Koch kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Renato Quinones could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Adrian Hicks made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Renato Quinones took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Adrian Hicks to make any attempt to save it. Tad Hahn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Wes Boyles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wes Boyles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliott Wall in the 98th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Borussia Dortmund walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
