The audience was convinced that Austin Barnhart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adrian Hicks was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. 5 minutes into the game, River City's Edmund Atkins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrian Hicks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Adrian Hicks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austin Barnhart in the 9th minute of the match. With a little luck, River City's Stephan Nguyen got control of the ball when Tad Hahn tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Metz during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edmund Atkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Hicks having to interfere. Edmund Atkins might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Hicks. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmund Atkins ran back to his position shaking his head. Adrian Hicks came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by River City's Austin Barnhart. But to his dismay, Austin Barnhart quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 36 minutes into the game, Rolland Fairchild was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Excaliburs the free kick. In the 36th match minute, River City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolland Fairchild to maneuver through the defense. Edmund Atkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Hicks having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Edmund Atkins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmund Atkins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Austin Barnhart to make the kick off. A collision led to Excaliburs getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Leon Koch hit a great ball. Austin Barnhart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee gave Tomas Metz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Adrian Hicks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austin Barnhart in the 81st minute of the match. Austin Barnhart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roscoe Brooks charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roscoe Brooks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stephan Nguyen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tad Hahn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 96th minute of the match Roscoe Brooks completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Roscoe Brooks a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of River City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Excaliburs:s goal. Noah Newcomb shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
