Spectators: 7776 (Terracing: 5833, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 155) Smacker's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Emilio Vogt scored to the left of an out of position Jim Bassett, making the score, 1-0. Emilio Vogt was extremely unlucky when he, in the 7th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After having played for 9 minutes, Ernest Herbert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canoga Park FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Herbert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emilio Vogt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Bassett having to interfere. Jim Bassett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Herbert in the 14th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santo Cullen during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 17 played minutes Smacker got a freekick which was hit by Santo Cullen. Osvaldo Chinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anson Gillis in the 20th minute of the match. Emilio Vogt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emilio Vogt was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of Smacker booed when Canoga Park FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Herbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osvaldo Chinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owen Melvin in the 34th minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Emilio Vogt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Smacker's Jim Bassett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 36 played minutes Smacker got a freekick which was hit by Ken Tillman. Canoga Park FC's Terence Parsons got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Vogt in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jim Bassett, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 47th minute of the match Canoga Park FC got a corner. Smacker's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emilio Vogt ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Donny Katz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jim Bassett quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Emilio Vogt made the kick off in the second half. Osvaldo Chinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gary Otto in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Smacker's Anson Gillis got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Canoga Park FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Owen Melvin scored to the left of an out of position Osvaldo Chinto, making the score, 2-1. Jim Bassett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest Herbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 63 minutes, Emilio Vogt made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Smacker's Jim Bassett tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jim Bassett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Vogt in the 70th minute of play. Jim Bassett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donny Katz went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute, Reginald Gold ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jim Bassett was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. After a rather tough play, Smacker's Anson Gillis got a free kick in the 87th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Canoga Park FC's Emilio Vogt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jim Bassett narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernest Herbert in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Bassett saved Smacker from getting behind. In the 97th minute Owen Melvin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Chinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Canoga Park FC were the better team. Canoga Park FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
