Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Renato Quinones started the match with the kick off. When Anson Gillis came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Smacker fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anson Gillis couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Owen Melvin in the 5th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Wes Boyles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Smacker's Jim Bassett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristobal Ivy in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Owen Melvin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Renato Quinones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristobal Ivy took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jim Bassett. Jim Bassett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Dirk Ochoa got a free kick in the 27th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Owen Melvin came free, but Wes Boyles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anson Gillis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jim Bassett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristobal Ivy, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Quinton Riggs charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Quinton Riggs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Quinton Riggs kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Borussia Dortmund's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rudolf Daniel in the 45th minute. Rudolf Daniel made a great header on Borussia Dortmund's corner, it was just that Smacker's Jim Bassett managed to reach the ball for a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Owen Melvin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Darius Crane. Wes Boyles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Owen Melvin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anson Gillis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Smacker's Jim Bassett got control of the ball when Cristobal Ivy tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jim Bassett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renato Quinones, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Renato Quinones was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 75th minute. Borussia Dortmund's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Renato Quinoness short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Jim Bassett to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 92nd match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudolf Daniel to maneuver through the defense. Cristobal Ivy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Jim Bassett when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Smacker supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Borussia Dortmund's performance. The match ended with a win for Borussia Dortmund.
