The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joe Contreras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domenic Yoder having to interfere. After 8 minutes, Lucien Clinton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rancho Cordova FC and the Woodstock 420 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucien Clinton hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Rancho Cordova FC's Norberto Kyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Hinds in the 9th minute of play. David Hinds received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Norberto Kyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rancho Cordova FC's zone, David Hinds stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Kyle came out of the goal and David Hinds tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Woodstock 420's Joseph Swain got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. David Hinds received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Norberto Kyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tommy Craig's late challenge caught a Woodstock 420's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domenic Yoder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rancho Cordova FC. After 36 played minutes Woodstock 420 got a freekick which was hit by Rickie Banning. When Joseph Swain came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Woodstock 420 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Swain couldn't finish the play. Domenic Yoder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucien Clinton in the 41st minute of the match. With his leg Norberto Kyle managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Woodstock 420's Joseph Swain fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpected shot in the 46th minute by Joseph Swain got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

The wind increased when Joe Contreras made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Vicente Kaplan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. David Hinds sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gregory Croft during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rancho Cordova FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gregory Croft hit a great ball. David Hinds received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute.
