When Energia Fc's Silas Roche in 9 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Richard Yoder guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 13th minute, one of Capitol Hill Avalanche:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Capitol Hill Avalanche. The goalkeeper, Richard Yoder, was totally fooled by Energia Fc's Micah Faulkner, who 15 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 17 minutes into the game, Ervin Shafer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capitol Hill Avalanche's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Energia Fc the free kick. Ervin Shafer hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, one of Capitol Hill Avalanche:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Capitol Hill Avalanche. When Pedro Pham came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Capitol Hill Avalanche fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Pham couldn't finish the play. 28 minutes into the game, Shelby Spicer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Energia Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capitol Hill Avalanche the free kick. After a rather tough play, Energia Fc's Shelby Spicer got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute Pedro Pham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cobi Hyde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capitol Hill Avalanche's goalkeeper Richard Yoder, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Pedro Pham notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Energia Fc's Cobi Hyde. Cobi Hyde was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silas Roche's late challenge caught a Capitol Hill Avalanche's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silas Roche helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Energia Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Roche to maneuver through the defense. If Pedro Pham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48thth minute of the game Pedro Pham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Energia Fc's Cobi Hyde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silas Roche to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Capitol Hill Avalanche's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Roche came free, but Richard Yoder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silas Roche in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richard Yoder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 56thth minute of the game Silas Roche who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Capitol Hill Avalanche's Richard Yoder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 63rd minute, Glen Keane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd match minute Daryl Eddy ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Cobi Hyde. 2-2. Cliff Schmitz hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. If Silas Roche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Pedro Vigil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Yoder was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. When Bob Cornelius fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Energia Fc's protests and gave Bob Cornelius a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Energia Fc fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Cobi Hyde went to the wrong direction when Daryl Eddy was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Pedro Vigil, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 79 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Richard Yoder was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Pedro Vigil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Richard Yoder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee gave Energia Fc a penalty, 90 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Micah Faulkner, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Capitol Hill Avalanche's Richard Yoder. 4-2. Capitol Hill Avalanche's Richard Yoder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silas Roche in the 94th minute of play. Silas Roche might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Yoder. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silas Roche ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Energia Fc fully deserved thier win.
