The referee ignored Woodstock 420's protests and gave Joseph Swain a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Woodstock 420's Joseph Swain got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Gary Feldman charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 32nd minute, Joseph Swain ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Junior Fugate was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. David Hinds sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. David Hinds received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Junior Fugate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruce Khan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. Woodstock 420's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. David Hinds fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Fugate having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Van Simmons to make the kick off. The supporters of Bronx Bombers FC booed when Woodstock 420 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickie Banning didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Bronx Bombers FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Hinds came free, but Junior Fugate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramon Godfrey shot from long distance in the 61st minute, but Domenic Yoder was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 64 minutes into the match, Van Simmons dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Domenic Yoder, 1-1. Bronx Bombers FC's Junior Fugate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Hinds in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Joseph Swain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Woodstock 420's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joseph Swain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute David Hinds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Junior Fugate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Domenic Yoder managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Bronx Bombers FC's Tony Melvin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 75 minutes into the match, Bronx Bombers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Swain came free, but Junior Fugate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Tony Melvin could shoot a difficult shot in the 78th minute, which Domenic Yoder however easily saved by the left post. When David Hinds came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Woodstock 420 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Hinds couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bronx Bombers FC's goalkeeper Junior Fugate, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If David Hinds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Van Simmons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Domenic Yoder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Bronx Bombers FC's Van Simmons dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Chants of Bronx Bombers FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Woodstock 420 had held the ball for most of the match.
