After 44 minutes, Cliff Schmitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capitol Hill Avalanche and the Rancho Cordova FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rancho Cordova FC booed when Capitol Hill Avalanche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Pham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Kyle having to interfere. Cliff Schmitz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Norberto Kyle came out and tried to block the shot, but Cliff Schmitz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 77th minute. Cliff Schmitz kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 83rd match minute, Capitol Hill Avalanche was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cliff Schmitz to maneuver through the defense. Capitol Hill Avalanche's Pedro Pham got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Rancho Cordova FC's goal looked a bit too open when Byron Womack came free, but Norberto Kyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Rancho Cordova FC's goalkeeper Norberto Kyle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Pham. Pedro Pham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norberto Kyle having to make a save. When Byron Womack came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Capitol Hill Avalanche fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Byron Womack couldn't finish the play. Capitol Hill Avalanche played a much better game than Rancho Cordova FC and deserved their victory. The Rancho Cordova FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
