Sherwood made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Nathanial Blanco sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Danny Napier took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for J.C. Sherwood to make any attempt to save it. When Nathanial Blanco fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leeds's protests and gave Nathanial Blanco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, Nathanial Blanco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Leeds's Exequiel Tibalt got a free kick in the 23rd minute. If Asher Luther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Rodger Mendoza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Texas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodger Mendoza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Exequiel Tibalt received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. J.C. Sherwood came out and tried to block the shot, but Exequiel Tibalt slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 27th minute. Exequiel Tibalt's late challenge caught a Texas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Exequiel Tibalt helped the player get up and apologised. Exequiel Tibalt kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. When Merrill Underwood fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Texas FC's protests and gave Merrill Underwood a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Leeds booed when Texas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merrill Underwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramiro Domenec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodger Mendoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danny Napier in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck J.C. Sherwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Asher Luther to strike the kick off in the second half. Asher Luther could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Ramiro Domenec made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Asher Luther took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Ramiro Domenec to make any attempt to save it. In the 58th minute, Asher Luther ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramiro Domenec was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Ramiro Domenec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodger Mendoza in the 66th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Rodger Mendoza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ramiro Domenec. That made the score 2-4 in the 71 minute of play. Asher Luther who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Ramiro Domenec when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joe Burkett in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg J.C. Sherwood saved Texas FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Texas FC defense, Nathanial Blanco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of J.C. Sherwood. The Texas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that J.C. Sherwood should have stopped the shot. Nathanial Blanco got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leeds's goalkeeper Ramiro Domenec, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 95 in the game by Asher Luther from a close distance when the talented Ramiro Domenec managed to make a qualified save. Leeds's players were relieved. Texas FC's Asher Luther got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
