Wompa's Clint Raymond got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Paris FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Everett DeJesus hit a great ball. Virgil Irving hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Clint Raymond struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Joesph Yates didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wompa. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Thaddeus Gillespie got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Virgil Irving fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wompa's protests and gave Virgil Irving a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paris FC booed when Wompa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgil Irving didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clint Raymond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Joesph Yates tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geoff Hirsch to make the kick off.
