Reggie Person was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 9 minutes, Cody Davila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate Miami's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cody Davila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of River Plate Miami booed when Cherry Splitters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerald Ladner didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Broussard in the 11th minute of play forced River Plate Miami's goalkeeper Reggie Person to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cherry Splitters's goalkeeper Geoffrey Holley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Sherwood Witt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reggie Person. River Plate Miami's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sherwood Witt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Cherry Splitters's zone, Marquis Spaulding stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geoffrey Holley came out of the goal and Marquis Spaulding tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Matthew McCall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marquis Spaulding struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Geoffrey Holley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate Miami. 35 minutes into the match, Cherry Splitters's goalkeeper Geoffrey Holley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marquis Spaulding. Gerald Ladner kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Matthew McCall blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Geoffrey Holley having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Cherry Splitters's zone, Marquis Spaulding stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geoffrey Holley came out of the goal and Marquis Spaulding tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geoffrey Holley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marquis Spaulding in the 42nd minute of the match. The River Plate Miami players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cherry Splitters were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Alejandro Broussard made the kick off in the second half. Marquis Spaulding fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoffrey Holley having to interfere. When Freddie Doe came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the River Plate Miami fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddie Doe couldn't finish the play. If Freddie Doe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reggie Person was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alejandro Broussard showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 68 minute of play. Matthew McCall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, River Plate Miami's Denver Howe got a free kick in the 75th minute. Reggie Person took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmy Chappelle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Cherry Splitters's Alejandro Broussard ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reggie Person. Reggie Person yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. River Plate Miami's Reggie Person played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerald Ladner in the 84th minute of play. Freddie Doe struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Geoffrey Holley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate Miami. After 89 minutes, Cody Davila mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate Miami and the Cherry Splitters players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th match minute, River Plate Miami was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cody Davila to maneuver through the defense. Reggie Person was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alejandro Broussard showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 92 minute of play. Alejandro Broussard took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reggie Person. Reggie Person dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Chants of Cherry Splitters echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as River Plate Miami had held the ball for most of the match.
