Spectators: 6787 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 10) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rocky Crews made the kick off which started today's match. After a rather tough play, Mount Josh's Johnny Calcagnini got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 14 minutes of play, Mount Josh's Donnie Rhodes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alec Houston was left in no man's land by his defense there! Donnie Rhodes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donnie Rhodes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Alec Houston made a huge save. Mount Josh's Vince Durham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rocky Crews in the 25th minute of play. Donnie Rhodes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Alec Houston made a huge save. 30 minutes into the game, Donnie Rhodes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alec Houston. Donnie Rhodes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Donnie Rhodes struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Alec Houston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mount Josh. If Reed Eckert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute of the match Quinton Barnett sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vince Durham skillfully saved the ball. In the 42nd match minute, Mount Josh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chuck Bell to maneuver through the defense. Stanford Arias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Vince Durham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Chuck Bell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mount Josh's supporters rose to their feet, but Chuck Bell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alec Houston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reed Eckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Alec Houston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reed Eckert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mount Josh's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Armando Putnam in the 54th minute. The corner led to Mount Josh's Oren Boyd getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Mount Josh's Reed Eckert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alec Houston narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Mount Josh booed when East Newark FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robbie Scott didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donnie Rhodes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alec Houston having to interfere. When Alan Lockwood fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored East Newark FC's protests and gave Alan Lockwood a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in East Newark FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Armando Putnam placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 89th minute, Donnie Rhodes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donnie Rhodes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Alec Houston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reed Eckert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind East Newark FC's goalkeeper Alec Houston, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Reed Eckert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alec Houston was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. When the referee ended the match the Mount Josh players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
